Monel 400 Specifications - ASTM, DIN, ASME, NACE & API Standards
Monel 400 specifications (also Monel 400 standards, UNS N04400 specs, Alloy 400 specs) span eight ASTM product specs, one DIN sheet, four ASME companions and three industry codes. Chemistry is single across all eight ASTM specs; only the wrought form changes. DIN 17743 NiCu30Fe (Werkstoff 2.4360) covers the European register. Sour service falls under NACE MR0175 Annex A.4, HF alkylation under API RP 751, welding fillers under AWS A5.11 / A5.14. ASME B-Series Companion Specifications
ASTM specs cover the alloy; ASME B-series covers the geometry. B1.1 defines UNC, UNF and UN-8 thread profiles on F468 bolts and F467 nuts (2A / 2B class). B16.5 covers pipe flanges in Class 150 through 2500 from B564 forgings (RF, RTJ, FF seating). B16.9 covers butt-welding fittings from B366 WP-NCu. B16.11 covers socket-weld and threaded fittings in Class 2000 to 9000 from B564 stock. ASME BPVC Section II Part B lists UNS N04400 as a permitted Section VIII Division 1 pressure material.
Industry Specifications - NACE, API, AWS
NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156-3 Annex A.4 lists UNS N04400 at 35 HRC max without Annex B prequalification; F468 caps bolts at 25 HRC, inside the envelope (NACE MR0175, sour service). API RP 751 names Monel 400 as the primary HF alkylation material for acid-wetted piping, settlers, regenerators and KOH neutralisers (HF acid resistance, HF alkylation). AWS A5.11 ENiCu-7 covers SMAW electrodes; AWS A5.14 ERNiCu-7 covers GTAW / GMAW filler (Monel 60, 190). Analytical methods: ASTM E1019, E1086, E76.

Certificates ship to EN 10204:2004. Type 3.1 is signed by independent manufacturer QA. Type 3.2 adds third-party witness (TUV, LRS, BV, DNV, ABS) and is mandatory for sour service per NACE MR0175, for pressure equipment under PED 2014/68/EU and for nuclear class 1. Both carry heat number, cast chemistry, tensile, yield, hardness and grain size on request.
